When Ryan Gravel first sketched his plans for the Beltline, he probably never imagined they would end up in a Smithsonian museum in New York City.
By the People: Designing a Better America, an exhibition of 60 collaborative designs from throughout the United States, opened at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum on September 30 and runs through February 26, 2017. As part of the exhibit, visitors can see images associated with the Beltline and a brief description of the project.
The exhibit focuses on projects that challenge the country’s persistent social and economic inequality, according to the museum website.
“The exhibition delivers a powerful message of optimism for achieving a more just and equitable society for all Americans through design,” the website says.
