Calling on local artists, Atlant a Beltline Inc. (ABI) is in search of creative individuals to create a monumental piece of art for the Enota Park expansion on the Westside Trail. Submissions must be made by the Dec. 1 deadline, and full details are available here.
Artists are encouraged to submit proposals for a sculpture eight feet tall or larger, suitable for an outdoor public setting, according to the call for submissions. In an effort to better engage with the community, submitting artist should have connections with the West End and Westview neighborhoods.
Enota Park is currently a small playlot, but it will be expanded to an 8-acre park, according to ABI materials. The expansion is currently in the design phase – the finalization of which is expected by the end of the year.
Many have heard about Art on the Atlanta BeltLine,the annual exhibition that brings sculptures, murals, performances to the Betline communities. This call, however, is part of the transportation and redevelopment project, according to program materials, and is considered more broadly, according to ABI materials.
This project falls under ABI’s Arts & Culture Strategic Implementation Plan which outlined the means by which the Beltline could be leveraged to improve neighborhood connectivity and access to cultural amenities, according to program materials. Read the full plan here.
