Mix fried chicken and gnocchi with paneer, chutney and naan, and the result is a new restaurant in Inman Park.
Amara, which touts itself as a pioneer of Indian-American cuisine, announced a soft opening on Nov. 8 on its Facebook page. The restaurant is located at 870 Inman Village Parkway. It has an open kitchen, a glass-backed bar and a patio.
“The dishes are reflective of new, modern American sensibilities folded in with the bold flavors of India,” the restaurant’s website says.
Amara is owned by Sandeep Kothary, who also owns Tabla in Midtown.
Menu items are divided into tapas-style small plates and large plates and include beet and coconut samosa, crab tikki, lamb chops and paneer gnocchi. For the full menu, click here.
The restaurant is open Tuesday through Thursday from 5 – 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5 – 11 p.m. and Sunday from 5 – 9 p.m. It is closed on Monday.
