APD Asks for Assistance in Locating Alleged Shooter

Atlanta Police Department investigators are requesting the public’s help in locating Jeriod Antonio Mathis, pictured above.
Around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 6, officers responded to a report of an individual shot inside a house near Washington Park, according to the police report. When they arrived, a victim was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and transported to a hospital for treatment.
Witnesses told the responding officers Mathis entered the home and started arguing with the victim, according to the police report. During the argument, they said Mathis shot the victim and fled the scene.
Investigators are encouraging anyone who knows Mathis’ whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers via their website, or by calling 404-577-TIPS (8477). Those providing information may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, and are not required to provide any personal information.
