The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership (ABP) will host a grand opening celebration of the Atlanta BeltLine Center on April 28, ABP announced in a press release.
The center, located in ABP’s Stoveworks offices near the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail, will present exhibits, interactive displays and programs highlighting the BeltLine’s history, the release said.
“The Atlanta BeltLine Center will allow people to learn how infrastructure can be a catalyst for economic growth and revitalization,” Brian P. McGowan, president and CEO of Atlanta BeltLine, Inc, said. “As we build a BeltLine for all, this center will celebrate the experiences we’ve come to love about the BeltLine.”
The center will also sell official Atlanta BeltLine merchandise and will take donations to support the project and ABP programming.
“The Atlanta BeltLine is for everyone, and the new Atlanta BeltLine Center will be a place that helps to create a base of enthusiasm and ownership in the community,” Dallas Clement, chairman of ABP’s board of directors, said. “Visitors of all ages will be able to come here and learn about how this one-of-a-kind project has evolved and helped shape our city.”
Funded by private philanthropy, the Atlanta BeltLine Center officially opens the weekend of April 28 and 29 and is free to the public.
For Westside residents planning to attend the opening weekend celebration, ABP will offer free shuttle bus service on both days between the center and KIPP Strive Elementary School, the release said. Details on the shuttle bus service can be found here in the days leading up to the event.
Additionally, between 1 – 3 p.m. on both days of opening weekend, ABP will host a celebration of their Supporter Perks program, which gives donors access to discounts and specials at a variety of Atlanta BeltLine businesses. According to the release, attendees who make a $25 contribution during these time periods will enjoy food and beverages from Bar Mercado, Varuni Napoli, Honeysuckle Gelato, Recess and King of Pops, Atlanta BeltLine-branded merchandise, and a full year of discounts at participating businesses.
The center’s normal operating hours will be Monday – Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Admission will be free. More information on the center can be found at here.
