This Thursday, May 10, Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. will host a meeting to discuss updates to the University and Avon Avenue corridor project.
According to ABI, the corridor stretches approximately two miles along Avon Avenue and University from Murphy Avenue to Hank Aaron Drive, near the Southeast and Southwest area of the BeltLine. The project area also includes a half-mile buffer on both sides and ends of the corridor.
“The purpose of the project is to define a vision and long-term configuration of the University and Avon Avenue corridors that provides a safe and efficient facility for all users in the context of imminent and future development,” ABI said in a press release.
During the meeting, ABI will explain what complete streets are and how they relate to the Atlanta BeltLine, present initial concepts for the project and ask for feedback on how this corridor should look and function in the future.
The meeting is open to the public and will feature Atlanta City Council member Joyce Sheperd. It will take place Thursday, May 10, from 6-8 p.m. at the Arthur Langford Jr. Recreation Center, located at 1614 Arthur Langford Jr. Place, Atlanta, GA 30315.
