Atlanta Bicycle Coalition offers to help ‘Hack Your Commute’ in wake of I-85 disaster

As people look for ways to deal with the unexpected closure of I-85 in Atlanta due to a fire, the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition is offering classes for people who want to use bikes as an alternative mode of transportation.
The Coalition is offering “Hack Your Commute” classes starting this week. The classes are geared toward people considering biking to work now that I-85 is no longer an option.
The classes will be held on:
– Friday, April 7th at 6 p.m.
– Sunday, April 9th at 1 p.m.
– Monday, April 10th at 11 a.m.
– Friday, April 14th at 6 p.m.
The classes will be held at Greystone in Piedmont Park. To RSVP for the classes, click here.
There will also be a “Meet ‘n Greet Bike Commuter Breakfast” on April 6 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. at The General Muir.
“All Atlanta residents interested in exploring cycling as a mode of transportation are invited,” the announcement from the Coalition says. “The event will include live music from professional cellist, Ben Sollee. Sollee is well-known for touring to gigs with his cello loaded on his bicycle.”
