Instead of Coke and chips, Atlanta’s newest vending machine has fuel for your bike.
The city’s first solar-powered bike accessory vending machine has been installed downtown in Woodruff Park, according to an update on the Central Progress Atlanta website.
In recent years, Atlanta and Mayor Kasim Reed have launched efforts to encourage biking in various ways, hiring a chief bicycle officer and implementing a bike share program called Relay.
Initially launched in June 2016, that program is expanding to including 22 locations in Midtown and Downtown.
There is no word on whether cyclists can expect additional vending machines around the city.
Items available in the vending machine include various bike tubes, lights, bike locks, repair kits and batteries. But this is not just about TLC for your bike. The vending machine also has hand wipes, ponchos and sunscreen.
