Dad’s Garage Theater Company puts on “Hamilton” spoof about life of Benjamin Franklin

For those who can’t afford to shell out hundreds of dollars on tickets to “Hamilton,” Dad’s Garage, a non-profit comedy theater in Old Fourth Ward, will put on their own show titled “Benjamin Franklin: American Gigolo.”
According to a Dad’s Garage press release, the show gives “a glimpse into the naughty side of American history.” The comedy show will tell the story of Benjamin Franklin, the founding father who also invented the urinary catheter and wrote essays on choosing mistresses, among his many ventures.
Running from May 18 until June 9, the show will last approximately 90 minutes with a 15 minute intermission. Since it deals with risque material, it is “inappropriate for anyone not old enough to experience adult humor.”
Shows take place Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Ticket prices begin at $12.50 and can be purchased here.
