Want to burn off those Thanksgiving calories? Lace up your running shoes, because the eighth annual Atlanta BeltLine East Side 10K will be run on Saturday, Dec. 1.
Made possible by The Atlanta BeltLine Partnership (ABP) and sponsored by Delta Air Lines, the race is open to runners of all fitness levels. The route showcases the Eastside Trail, with runners passing through the Old Forth Ward, Inman Park, Poncey-Highland, Virgina-Highland and Midtown neighborhoods, according to race materials.
Medals will be awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers. The top three overall male and female Masters finishers (40+), Grand Masters finishers (50+), Senior Masters (60+) finishers and top three finishers in each age category will also receive medals, race materials indicate. Medals will also be awarded to teams for largest, fastest, and top fundraising.
The 10K is part of the 2018 Run.Walk.Go! Race Series. In July, more than 1,250 runners participated in the westisde 5K/8K, according to race materials. All proceeds from this series benefit the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, the nonprofit organization supporting Atlanta Beltline projects.
“The Atlanta BeltLine is sparking a fun culture of health, activity, and community in our city,” ABP Deputy Executive Director David Jackson said in a statement. “The Atlanta BeltLine Run.Walk.Go! Race Series is the perfect way for people of all fitness levels to explore different trail segments while staying fit and active. We thank Delta Air Lines and all of this year’s sponsors for their generous support of the Run.Walk.Go! Race Series and the 2018 Eastside 10K.”
It costs $45 to register, and race day registration starts at 8 a.m. at Stoveworks, located at 112 Krog Street. The race will start at 9:30 a.m.
