Edgewood to host second annual Mac and Cheese festival

By Mary Margaret Stewart, assistant editor
On Oct. 7, at 12:30 p.m., the second annual Mac and Cheese festival will be held at Walker Park in Edgewood, located on 200 Memorial Terrace, SE.
Featured local restaurants will include Fox Bros., Marlow’s Tavern, American Roadhouse and Sun in My Belly. Lagunitas will be providing beer.
It won’t just be mac and cheese and beer, though. There will be live music from bands such as Zydefunk, Sailing to Denver, and All the Locals.
Bring the whole family, too, as the festival will have special activities for kids.
All of the festival proceeds will go to the local non-profit Neighborhood in Need, which “helps seniors on fixed incomes with emergency home repairs in the Edgewood, Kirkwood, East Lake and Oakhurst neighborhoods.”
Last year, more than 2,000 people attended the festival, raising $25,000 for Neighborhood in Need.
Tickets are $20 and can be reserved online. To purchase tickets or to read more about the festival, check out the website at http://macandcheesefest.edgewoodatl.com/.
