A reported stabbing that triggered a campus lock down at Emory University on June 24 turned out to be a case of self harm, the university says.
The Police Department received a call about a stabbing at the main Emory Campus at the baseball field behind Eagle Row. Shortly after that report, Emory said the victim was not a student and the incident had occurred off campus.
On Tuesday, June 26, an Emory spokesperson said, “The Emory Police Department has completed its investigation of the incident of June 24 near the baseball field on Emory’s Atlanta Campus. The victim admitted to police that the injury she sustained was self-inflicted. She is at Grady Hospital.”
