Covenant Community Inc., “a residential life-stabilization program for homeless men recovering from substance abuse,” is ready to give back to the homeless community.
On the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, Nov. 21, Covenant Community and The Men of Hope will be serving a Thanksgiving Dinner to the homeless for the 23rd year in a row.
Starting at 8 a.m. on Monday morning, Nov. 20, the formerly homeless men will cook for over 400 guests as well as prepare around 200 to go plates for local shelters. The meal will include “turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetables, dinner rolls, and a wide variety of holiday desserts.”
Dinner will last from 5 to 7 p.m. in Ellis Hall in All Saints’ Episcopal Church’s Parish Hall, located in Midtown Atlanta. While dinner is served, a DJ will be playing some music for everyone to enjoy.
In addition, the Covenant Community has arranged for charter services to transport attendees to and from the dinner.
Covenant Community is part of All Saints’ ministry. Their parish helps out by contributing food or money donations as well as helping to serve food to the homeless.
