George Takei will speak at Georgia State University

George Takei, best-known for playing Hikaru Sulu in the original “Star Trek” series, is speaking at Georgia State University.
The event is Thursday, Feb. 9, from 3 p.m.to 4:30 p.m. It will be held at Student Center East, Student Center Ballroom located at 55 Gilmer Street, Atlanta, GA.
Takei will be discussing his family’s internment in an American camp during World War II.
“Takei [will] share the story of his family’s forced internment as Japanese Americans during WWII, as well as his rise to celebrity as a Sci-fi icon, his remarkable journey as social media mega power, and his passionate fight for LGBTQ rights and marriage equality in America – empowering others to beat the odds and make a difference,” the event announcement says.
