The city really needed to call in some cowboys yesterday.
An overturned livestock truck spilled a herd of cows onto a highway in Cobb Couty, where I-75 intersects with I-285, backing up traffic and causing at least four wrecks, according to the Associated Press. The accident occurred around 3:30 in the morning, and it took hours for officials to wrangle 87 of the 89 wayward beasts.
Some roads were closed, and the highways were gridlocked, the multiple news sources reported. There were no major injuries reported associated with the incident.
Here’s what GDOT had to say:
Ten animals were killed in the accident, and as of yesterday, two are still missing. The recovered cows were taken to their destination in Calhoun, Ga.
