Lane closures planned for I-285, Downtown Connector

The Georgia Department of Transportation has two big projects coming up this week that will result in lane closures on major interstates in Atlanta.
There will be lane closures on the I-75/I-85 Downtown Connector on Tuesday, Aug. 15, through Friday, Aug. 18. Here’s more information from GDOT:

Tuesday, Aug. 15 9 p.m. until Wednesday, Aug. 16, 5 a.m.
Four lanes and one outside shoulder will close on I-75/I-85 NB from 10th Street to the Brookwood Interchange.Wednesday, August 16 until Friday, Aug. 18 nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Four lanes and one inside shoulder will close on I-75/I-85 SB from North Avenue to Fulton Street
“Motorists should expect delays while crews paint interstate shields on I-75/I-85 northbound and southbound,” GDOT says.
On Thursday, Aug. 17, and Friday, Aug. 18, there will be closures on I-285 as part of a project to “Transform I-285/400” project. The closures will begin at 9 p.m. and end at 5 a.m.
“One right lane and shoulder will close on the on-ramp to I-285 eastbound from Roswell Road,” GDOT says.
The Transform 285/400 project will add new flyover ramps, collector distributor lanes and other improvements to improve east-west travel on I-285 and north south travel on GA 400, GDOT says.
