Fire causes I-85 bridge to collapse

Reports are streaming in about a large fire near GA 400 and Piedmont Road.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports the fire has caused an I-85 bridge to collapse. Drivers are being asked to keep their windows rolled up, the AJC reports.
No injuries have been reported so far.
The Atlanta Police Department said “piles of plastic conduit” are on fire, not a vehicle. Officials aren’t yet sure what caused the blaze.
Fox 5’s helicopter is currently at the scene …

Editor’s note and correction: Earlier reports said the fire occurred in Midtown, and while Midtown has felt the impact of the road’s closure, the fire technically occurred at the southern border of Buckhead.
