MARTA to host voter registration organizations in honor of National Voter Registration Day

In observance of National Voter Registration Day on September 27, MARTA will allow approved organizations to conduct voter registration activities at select stations.
Organizations can conduct voter registration activities at the Five Points Station from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 3-7 p.m, according to a news release from MARTA. They will also be allowed to register voters at College Park, Doraville, H. E. Holmes, Kensington and North Springs stations.
Space is limited and will be given to organizations on a first-come, first-serve basis. In order to participate in this non-partisan event, interested organizations must register with MARTA by 3 p.m. on Friday, September 23.
Participating organizations will be responsible for bringing voter registration applications and any other required forms.
Voter registration activities must not interfere with MARTA customers coming in and out of the station or otherwise hinder the flow of customers around the station. No amplifiers or bullhorns are allowed, and voter registration volunteers and staff are strictly prohibited from soliciting campaign donations or advertising their affiliation with any candidate, the news release says.
Groups interested in participating in National Voter Registration Day should contact Toni Thornton-Sanford, Community Outreach Planner, at 404.848.5423 or tthornton@itsmarta.com.
