Next phase of Studioplex in Old Fourth Ward to begin

Developers are almost ready to launch a new phase of a mixed-use development project near Krog Street Market and the Beltline in the Old Fourth Ward.
The next phase of Studioplex on Auburn – a 32,000 square foot building that will include a 19-unit townhouse over restaurants and retail space– will begin later this year, according to a news release from developer Columbia Ventures.
A new parking deck for the development is expected to be finished in November and then construction will start on the new building. A future phase will include a residential condominium over office spaces and will be located next to the BeltLine and Edgewood Avenue, the news release says.
“The number and variety of restaurants, retailers, service businesses and creative class office users expressing interest has exceeded all expectations, and without any outside marketing whatsoever,” Dillon Baynes, Managing Partner of Columbia Ventures, said in the release. “Everyone wants to be on the BeltLine.”
The development is near the Beltline’s Eastside Trail Extension, which is currently under construction. It intersects with the sidewalk by Bell Street Burritos that heads to Krog Street Market.
