An estimated 60,000 people descended on downtown Atlanta on Saturday for the March for Social Justice and Women, held a day after the inauguration of President Donald Trump.
It was one among numerous protest marches around the world, including a massive rally in Washington D.C.
Atlanta’s march began at the Center for Civil and Human Rights and ended at the Georgia State Capitol.
U.S. Rep. John Lewis spoke at rallies that were held at the start and finish of the march. Atlanta personality Baton Bob led the march as thousands made their way through the streets to Liberty Plaza.
Organizers of the march encouraged participants to get involved in local and national politics and grassroots organizing.
Atlanta Loop photographer Steve Eberhardt attended and sent these photos.
