Police release pictures of sweatshirt worn by suspect in fatal Barcelona Wine Bar robbery
Atlanta Police released new evidence Wednesday in the hopes it will lead them to the suspects who robbed the Barcelona Wine Bar on Nov. 19.
The suspects shot and killed Chelsea Beller, a restaurant manager who was complying with the suspects’ demands during the robbery. Earlier this week, police revealed that one of the suspects had been cut by a razor wire fence leaving blood evidence behind. On Wednesday, Maj. Adam Lee said police had also recovered a sweatshirt believed to have been worn by one of the suspects.
“We believe that this individual was definitely complicit in the robbery and murder of Chelsea Beller,” Lee said at the press conference.
He said following the robbery and murder, the suspects carjacked a Lyft driver’s vehicle at a YEAH! Burger. They then drove to the Georgia Tech campus. A Georgia Tech Police officer noticed the lights were out and started to pursue the vehicle. The vehicle was abandoned and the suspects left several pieces of evidence behind, including the sweatshirt. One of the suspects can be seen wearing the sweatshirt in surveillance video released by Atlanta Police.
The suspect was also wearing light gray camouflage pants and blue tennis shoes.
Here is a photo of the sweatshirt police recovered as well as a photo of the product found online.
There’s a $20,000 Crime Stoppers reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Anyone with information can provide an anonymous tip by calling 404-577-TIPS (8477).
