On Thursday, Jan. 18, the affordable housing organization 3Keys will unveil the newly renovated Phoenix House, according to a 3Keys press release.
The group’s oldest facility, Phoenix House “offers affordable long-term housing for adults who are homeless with highly service-dependent mental illness,” the release said. Former First Lady of the United States, Rosalynn Carter, and the First Lady of Georgia, Sandra Deal, will both speak at the facility’s reopening.
According to the release, the $10.5 million renovations will provide homes to 69 previously homeless residents in a “highly-supportive environment.” In addition to constructing 45 new apartments, 24 existing units, the administration building and a resident community room have all been renovated.
Made up of two Victorian homes, Phoenix House also provides on-site laundry facilities, a community room and security, the release said. Supportive services from its 24-hour staff include meal assistance, medication monitoring, transportation assistance, on-site case management and resources to off-site programs.
The reopening will take place January 18 at 2 p.m. at 1296 Murphy Avenue SW in Atlanta.
