Standoff in East Lake Ends Without Injury After SWAT Deploys Chemical Agents

A tense standoff in East Lake ended without injury this afternoon.
A little after 1 p.m., the owner of came to inspect the property he just purchased at 2586 Knox Street, according to the Atlanta Police Department (APD).
When the owner walked into the home, he was surprised to see someone already inside – Kenneth Pass, APD reports. The man refused to leave the house, and threatened the owner, saying he had a shotgun. Pass retreated to the upper level of the home, and the owner called the police.
When officers arrived on scene, Pass told the officers the same thing and threatened to shoot. Due to the condition of the home, the officers called in SWAT and hostage negotiators to assist in this matter, according to APD. After several hours, chemical agents were deployed and forced the suspect to surrender without injuries.
Pass will be charged with criminal trespass and terroristic threats, according to APD.
