The Burbline: Alpharetta planning its own version of the Beltline project

Alpharetta, a suburb of Atlanta, has decided to pursue its own version of the Atlanta Beltline project.
The project, known as the Alpha Loop, would connect Avalon, a mixed-use development, to the city’s downtown. There would be a three mile inner loop and a five-mile outer loop that would link the city’s downtown with Avalon and Georgia 400.
“The Alpha Loop will better connect our neighborhoods, improve our travel and mobility, spur economic development and elevate the overall quality of life in the technology city of the south,” the project description says.
The city says it has already “leveraged” some ongoing developments to start the project. The city says the developers are constructing segments of the trail as part of their projects. The city says some sections could be finished this year.
