Dad’s Garage debuts comedy about American politics

If the current political climate makes you feel like crying, a local theatre company wants to turn those tears into laughter.
Dad’s Garage Theatre Company is debuting a new sketch comedy this fall called “Democracy Achieved: This Ode to the Perfection of American Politics,” highlighting America’s flawed political system, according to a news release from the company.
“Do you watch politicians on the evening news and not know whether to laugh, cry, or start applying to jobs in Canada?” the news release asks. “While the current political climate may frustrate you, for us it is a magical comedy well that never runs dry.”
The show promises never-ending, bipartisan zingers that not only target the presidential candidates, but also focus on the flaws of the system itself. Corporate money, an awkward Hillary date, Congressional gridlock and Trump’s hair singing a ballad are just some of the things to expect from this show.
In the true spirit of democracy, the audience gets to vote on what snacks they want for intermission. However, no one may get what they want, the release warns.
The New Georgia Project will be registering voters during the opening weekend show on October 6-8. For more about them, click here.
