American Youth Film Festival accepting submissions for fourth annual festival in Atlanta

The American Youth Film Festival will host its fourth annual festival in Atlanta at The Westin Peachtree Plaza June 13 – 16, according to an AYFF press release.
The American Youth Film Festival showcases original short films produced by, written by or starring students and/or family or friends produced on cell phones, digital cameras or advanced recording equipment. This year’s theme is “Lights. Camera. Action! – It’s Your Time to Shine!”
According to the release, the ability “to conceptualize, plan, and create their own independent films, facilitated by such modern media as YouTube and Vimeo, allows each filmmaker to freely express the subjects that interest them.” The festival aims to allow student filmmakers to learn about and express their passion.
The festival is open to students nationwide of all ages, from elementary school to college.
