Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. seeking contractor for Northeast Trail

Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. (ABI) is requesting statements of qualifications to secure a contractor for the Northeast Trail, ABI announced in a press release.
The Northeast Trail falls between Monroe Drive and MARTA’s Lindbergh Station. All firms interested in designing and engineering the trail are invited to apply.
The work will be done in coordination with ongoing Georgia Power work between Westminster Drive and Mayson Street, the release said.
The design will aim to include a multi-use concrete path, retaining walls, vertical connections, stormwater management, signage, lighting, and accommodation for future light rail transit, according to ABI.
A pre-proposal meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 13, at 10 a.m., and qualifications are due on March 29.
According to the release, ABI will lead community engagement for the design process to be supported by the contracted firm. A community meeting to update the public on the status of the Northeast Trail and related Georgia Power work was held in February.
Design work is expected to begin this summer and will last approximately 30 months. Additionally, funding for design is included in Atlanta Regional Commission’s 2018 recommendations for Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) allocations.
