UPDATE: Atlanta City Hall closes Monday due to air-conditioning malfunction

The air conditioning is out at Atlanta City Hall and that’s a show-stopper as far as city business is concerned.
City Hall closed early on, Aug. 27 and will open two hours late on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
“Due to a malfunction of an air conditioning unit impacting the City Hall building, the entire City Hall building (68 Mitchell St and 55 Trinity Avenue ONLY) will close immediately, today August 27th and will reopen at normal business hours Tuesday, August 28th,” the city says. “For further updates please check the City website or follow us on social media.”
The city sent an email Tuesday morning saying opening had been delayed for two hours.
“Work to repair the air conditioning system is ongoing, and we expect temperatures to return to normal later this morning,” the email from the city says. “All other off-site City operations, including the Courts, Recreation Centers and other governmental facilities will be open at their regular times.”
