The city of Atlanta and the Department of City Planning have launched a business development portal to streamline permitting processes.
Called the ATL Permit Navigator, the hub helps guide customers through the complex bureaucratic processes involved in performing renovations or developing a new business. According to city materials, the portal will help customers save time by walking them through zoning and building regulations, helping them pay fees and obtain the proper licenses.
“We are excited to bring ATL Permit Navigator to the City of Atlanta,” Tim Keane, Atlanta’s commissioner of city planning, said in a statement. “This tool is part of our continuous efforts to improve the citizen permitting experience. Bringing this information online and available at any time of day empowers users to feel comfortable and informed before navigating the permit process. It will also help to reduce their discovery process from weeks down to a few minutes.”
Permit and zoning information is available in six languages, including: Spanish, French, Hindi, Vietnamese, Chinese and Korean, according to city materials. By creating a digital tool, customers can engage with the Department of City Planning on demand.
