Atlanta Police arrest man accused of murdering Barcelona Wine Bar employee
Atlanta Police have announced an arrest in connection with a Nov. 19 robbery and murder at the Barcelona Wine Bar.
Police arrested Samuel Ott, 21, on Saturday, Dec. 23. His DNA was matched to evidence found at the crime scene, police said.
“Ott was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, kidnapping and false imprisonment and transported to the Fulton County jail,” the Police Department said. “Blood evidence from clothing and other materials discarded near the crime scene shortly after the murder was turned over to the GBI Crime Lab for examination. Earlier this week, APD investigators learned the DNA was a match to Ott, who has a previous criminal history.”
Police are working to identify additional suspects.
During the Nov. 19 incident, the suspects shot Chelsea Beller, the restaurant manager, who was complying with the robbers’ demands when she was killed.
Police have uncovered several clues in the case.
Investigators have revealed that one of the suspects had been cut by a razor wire fence leaving blood evidence behind. Police also recovered a sweatshirt believed to have been worn by one of the suspects.
