Atlanta issues warning about flooding near Peachtree Creek and Nancy Creek

The city of Atlanta Police Department says that Peachtree Creek and Nancy Creek in the north side of Atlanta are in danger of cresting this evening.
The flooding is the result of a tropical storm brought to Atlanta by Hurricane Irma.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has advised that Peachtree Creek and Nancy Creek on the north side of Atlanta are in danger of cresting this evening. APD and AFR are going door-to-door in these neighborhoods, advising residents of the need to make plans to deal with flooding. Anyone needing shelter at a Red Cross center may call 404-520-8865 for assistance. Anyone else concerned about flooding should call 311 or 911 in case of a life-threatening emergency.
