Cold Beer, a new restaurant by Kevin Gillespie, part of new mixed use development

Celebrity chef Kevin Gillespie’s new restaurant will have a starring role in an upcoming mixed-use development by Vantage Realty Partners.
The new development will be located between Edgewood and DeKalb avenues. It will border Old Fourth Ward, Inman Park and Cabbagetown along the Beltline. Gillespie’s restaurant will be called Cold Beer. His other restaurants around town include Gun Show and Revival.
“Imagine enjoying the BeltLine scene while sipping a killer cocktail from the patio of Atlanta chef Kevin Gillespie’s newest venture, gathering with friends over at a wine bar and bottle shop led by sommelier Melissa Davis and then taking a stroll on the city’s ultra-intown amenity, the Eastside BeltLine Trail,” the announcement says. “With Vantage Realty Partner’s launch of a new multi-use project on the stretch between Edgewood and DeKalb Avenues, that dream will become reality.”
The project is 28,000 square feet and will open in spring of 2019.
According to Vantage Realty Partners, the project will include:
– Cold Beer, the newest culinary creation from Atlanta chef/author Kevin Gillespie and his Red Beard Restaurants. Described as the sister to Gillespie’s much-celebrated Gunshow, Cold Beer will feature a beverage program from cocktail expert Mercedes O’Brien along with a menu of shareable dishes. With a patio on the roof and two patios adjacent to the BeltLine, Cold Beer’s communal seating, interactive service and edgy drinks and eats will create a gathering spot for neighbors and visitors.
– Hazel Jane’s Wine & Coffee, a wine bar concept by Revelator where natural and biodynamic wines take center stage. Hazel Jane’s wine and beverage program will operate under the direction of certified sommelier, Melissa Davis (Staplehouse, Cakes & Ale). The day-to-night location features a full-service kitchen, a coffee and espresso counter, a large central bar in the heart of the space, and a convenient BeltLine adjacent patio & bottle shop.
– Shake Shack, the critically acclaimed modern day roadside burger stand. Designed by Smith Hanes, the Shack will be constructed to reflect the Old Fourth Ward’s charm, using recycled and sustainable materials, booths made from lumber certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and tabletops constructed from reclaimed bowling alley lanes. A reflection of Shake Shack’s commitment to community investment, the menu will feature exclusive items in collaboration with local purveyors and proceeds from certain menu items will benefit a local charity partner.
