On August 5, the nonprofit organization Cool Dads Rock (CDR) will host its 5th annual Soap Box Derby Festival at Historic Fourth Ward Park in Atlanta.
Between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., families from all over the metro area can come to compete in a variety of categories, including fastest car, most creative car and more, the announcement says. The soap box race itself will take place at 12:30 p.m. Drivers can be any age older than 4.
Aside from featuring soap box cars, the festival will also have vendors, music and family activities. More than 800 people are expected to attend.
According to the release, the goal of the festival is for fathers to build cool cars with their kids and “prove that dads are pretty cool.” Cool Dads Rock, which was founded by Atlanta’s DJ LV, seeks to “assist fathers in building lasting and memorable relationships with their children.”
Come out and enjoy the all-day event with your family or sponsor a car. For more information regarding this event, please visit the Cooldadsrock.com.
