As development of the “Gulch” progresses, the Atlanta City Council is holding a work session to discuss the project with key community stakeholders and members of the public.
The session will be held tomorrow, Sept. 13, at 9:30 a.m. at Atlanta City Hall, 55 Trinity Ave. S.W. in the Council Chambers, according to a council media release. While no official action will be taken at the meeting, the public is invited to attend. Also invited are representatives from various city departments, Invest Atlanta, the Atlanta Independent School System and the Fulton County Government.
Atlanta Loop recently reported the city came to a conditional agreement with development group CIM Spring St. to develop the economically depressed area of downtown. The agreement includes numerous provisions that satisfy the city’s commitment to affordable housing, public safety and economic development, and is being lauded by Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms as a “Once in a lifetime opportunity;” however, others say the agreement doesn’t go far enough to protect the city’s interests.
