Fox Bros Bar-B-Q planning West Midtown location

This story has been updated.
Fox Bros is planning to open its second location in a development slated for West Midtown.
The developer, Eden Rock Real Estate Partners, confirmed that Fox Bros will be a tenant. The project, known as Westside Village at Moores Mill is expected to open in Spring of 2017. It will be located off of Moores Mill Road, near the intersection of Marietta Boulevard and Coronet Way. It is described by the developer as an “adaptive reuse warehouse conversion.”
The development will be adjacent to a new Publix center. It will also be near other apartment and town home developments planned for the area.
The barbecue joint has been bursting at the seams at its DeKalb Avenue location and a second location has been rumored for years.
Fox Bros co-owner Jonathan Fox, who lives in Kirkwood, said he hopes the new location will ease some of the pressure on the DeKalb Avenue location. Fox Bros also recently opened a commissary kitchen over by SweetWater Brewery.
“That has always been our plan on easing the pressure, to open our commissary kitchen to get our catering into its own facility,” Fox said. “The commissary would help on opening a second location it would help ease the strain on that whole area, not only the store but the strain the neighborhood feels about having the influx of customers.”
Fox said the restaurant was looking into another location in West Midtown, but that fell through. Then the Eden Rock development opportunity came along.
“We found the opportunity to be within that same general location and have an easier time building to suit our needs and have the ability to have more parking,” Fox said. “A lot of those things we’re currently strapped with at our DeKalb Avenue location.”
