Tonight will mark Atlanta’s 30th annual Peach Drop. This year, the drop is returning to its traditional home in historic Underground Atlanta after last year’s event was held in Woodruff Park.
As with most events in the city, residents should expect traffic disruptions. Streets will begin closing at 3:30 p.m. around the following perimeter:
- Peachtree Street to Wall Street
- Wall Street to Central Avenue
- Central Avenue to Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard
- Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard to Peachtree Street

Underground will open at 6 p.m. and entertainment will begin at 7 p.m., according to city materials. Entrances to the event will be located on Peachtree Street, Marietta Street, and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Event coordinators are encouraging guests to arrive early – the earlier you get there, the better your spot will be.
Musical guests for this year’s event will include R&B groups Jagged Edge and 112 “the Experience,” alt-rock band Better than Ezra as well as various local acts, according to city materials. Admission to the event is free of charge and open to the public.
Atlanta police have already begun preparations to coordinate with other public safety agencies and first responders to ensure the celebration is secure and safe for everyone. They remind party-goers that bags will be checked at all entry points, and firearms, chairs, coolers, umbrellas, drones, pets, bicycles, hoverboards and skateboards are all prohibited.
Organizers are encouraging revelers to help mitigate potential traffic concerns by taking MARTA to the event, or using ridesharing services. For more information on the event, click here.
