L5P Halloween Festival and Parade kicks off Halloween season

It’s time to break out the zombie costumes and pumpkin carriages and head to the Little 5 Points Halloween Festival and Parade for a ghoulish good time this weekend.
Billed as one of the top ten Halloween events in the country, the annual festival brings in more than 35,000 people every year for its great food and drink, live entertainment and Halloween parade, according to its website.
The festival is from noon until 11 p.m. on Saturday, with artist markets and food vendors set up along Euclid Avenue. Music and live entertainment will be set up in Findley Plaza and the Star Bar parking lot.
The parade is from 4 – 6 p.m. on Saturday, with the route starting at Austin Avenue and Euclid Avenue and moving up Euclid Avenue to Moreland Avenue. It will then turn south on Moreland Avenue to the Wrecking Bar Brewpub. The parade will do a u-turn at the Brewpub and head to Freedom Parkway.

Festival organizers are urging people to walk to the event or take MARTA if at all possible.
“Parking is very difficult in Little 5 Points on Saturday all day unless you get there really early,” their website says.
