Atlanta BeltLine Inc. has scheduled a public meeting regarding the opening of the Westside Trail.
The Westside Trail is expected to be a 3-mile multi-use trail, consisting of 14-foot wide pathways with 14 access points with over 40 acres of greenway. It will connect University Avenue to Washington Park in southwest Atlanta.
It’s expected to open later this summer.
There will be a public meeting about the opening on June 26 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. It will be held at the West End Family Life and Community Center, 1191 Donnelley Avenue SW, Atlanta, GA, 30310. It will be accessible by MARTA bus 68 or 81, according to a press release from ABI.
The meeting will cover trail hours, lighting and security fencing. The meeting is targeted at residents of Westview, West End, Adair Park, Pittsburgh, Mechanicsville, Oakland City, Bush Mountain, Capitol View, Capitol View Manor, Sylvan Hills, Mozley Park, Ashview Heights, Hunter Hills, Bankhead, Vine City, Washington Park, Knight Park/Howell Station, English Avenue, Rockdale, and Grove Park.
“We will also discuss the installation of a shed at the Urban Farm on the Atlanta BeltLine in southwest Atlanta. Solar panels will be built with the shed thanks to a grant from the Georgia Solar Rebate Program,” the press release says.
