Midtown will have owl-themed lantern parade

Who would have guessed? Midtown in Atlanta will host an owl themed lantern parade on Aug. 3.
The event is presented by the Midtown Alliance.
“Parliament of Owls is an owl themed lantern parade based in community participation,” the event website says. “Everyone is invited to make an owl lantern and walk in the parade! The owls are white, the attire is black. Make your own owl lantern or take an owl lantern workshop or pick up an owl lantern kit or free mask!”
The parade line up is at 8:30 p.m.
“We will gather at the Promenade II Building at 1230 Peachtree St. NE at 8:30 p.m. and take flight at 9:15 p.m.,” the website says “We’ll walk to the Piazza at the High Museum, then to the sidewalk on Peachtree Street and up to 14th Street. We’ll cross Peachtree for a finale at Colony Square Plaza. Owls are invited to roost on the veranda of the Castle afterward!”
