Police make an arrest in connection to Midtown murder

Atlanta Police say they’ve arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of a woman in Midtown on Monday morning.
The woman, identified as Trinh Hong Hyunh, was reportedly in the crosswalk in the 900 block of Peachtree Street when she was shot.
On Tuesday, April 4, police announced the arrest of Raylon Browning, 39, of Roswell. Police accuse Browning of stabbing two people in the 1100 block of West Peachtree on April 2.
“The aggravated assault charges are what led investigators to Browning,” the Police Department said in a press release. “Atlanta PD put out warrants for the aggravated assault charges on Monday afternoon, April 3. On Monday evening around 9 p.m., Browning ran a red light in Cobb County. Cobb Police pulled him over on a routine traffic stop and followed procedure to check for warrants. They saw the two warrants for aggravated assault from Atlanta Police and arrested the suspect. In completing an inventory of the vehicle, police found the weapon that is a preliminary match in the Hyunh shooting. Police also found a hooded sweatshirt that matched what Browning was wearing in video of the shooting. When he was arrested in Cobb County, Browning was still wearing shorts and tennis shoes that were consistent with what was seen in the video.”
The investigator looking into the stabbing cases noticed similarities between the man allegedly seen in the video and a photo he had of the suspect. Police also received a Crime Stoppers tip that allegedly identified Browning as the man in the video.
Detectives are still looking into what the alleged motive might have been or whether Browning knew the victim.
