Redlight the Gulch Headed Back to Court Friday Morning

The Redlight the Gulch Coalition will be headed back to court on Friday in hopes of derailing the city’s development plans.
This is a continuation of opening legal salvo that was fired on Wednesday morning – the first time the court addressed the 28 objections the coalition filed against the city’s contentious Gulch redevelopment deal.
These objections question the legality of the Gulch deal, and coalition organizer Julian Bene told Atlanta Loop he hopes the court will see fit to block the city’s bond validations.
“We have raised many objections for the judge to take into account before OK-ing the ‘EZ’ bond,” Bene told Atlanta Loop in an email. “[There are] hundreds of pages and lots of wrinkles and an army of lawyers for the City and developer against our single stalwart lawyer.”
The coalition is asking supporters to come to the Fulton County Superior Court, courtroom 9G at 9 a.m. The coalition asks that supporters wear red in solidarity, and be respectful and quiet during the proceedings.
