Showcase Photo and Video closing on Feb. 28

After 40 years in business, Showcase Photo and Video is shutting its doors.
The last day in business will be Feb. 28, according to an email sent to customers.
“All of us at Showcase have had a wonderful time attending to the photographic needs of Atlanta and the Southeast,” the email says. “Like you, we’ve experienced great changes in the industry, from manual to automatic cameras, from film to digital, from still to video.”
The letter says internet sales and electronics stores “have progressively shrunk our retail market.” The company says it has weathered the changes and is now the last photo and video store in the city.
“But we have reached a point that we can no longer sustain a retail business,” the email says.
The company is liquidating its inventory.
“If you are interested in expanding your equipment selection, now is the time to visit,” the email says. “We have tripods, bags, accessories, lighting gear, backgrounds and stands, printers, printing paper and inks. We have Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Sony and Fuji cameras. We have plenty of Pro Video gear including mics, lights, rigs, sliders, video tripods, GoPro’s and numerous video centric accessories. Popular items will go quickly, so plan your visit soon.”
The store is located at 2323 Cheshire Bridge RD NE, Atlanta.
